The first 6 kittens of the Breakfast at Tiffiny's class were born on May 5th, 2018, at the shelter that On Angel's Wings rescued them from. They were brought to Kitten Academy on the 8th, and stayed in a box in the annex while they began their first lessons at KA. the name "Tiffiny" is a sort of pun, because in DJ's native language of Tamil, it means "a light breakfast or snack", and therefore the kittens were named after breakfast foods. Right away the kittens proved to be a very advanced class, with Muffin already opening her eyes by the time they arrived, and Donut leaving the box on his own just a few days later.

Jessica Schleder won $10,000 for her business idea at the 2018 USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase. Her idea: use artificial intelligence technology to save animal lives by increasing the number of adoptions at shelters.

In fall 2018, Marshall School of Business MBA student Maxine Lau applied for the USC Stevens Student Innovator Showcase to win funding for Lahtt Sauce. She ended up winning the $2,500 Venture Validation award.
